Jade arrives in her new rural home and struggles to make sense of the isloated setting, her new brother, and her mother's taste in men.
Far from the city life Jade is used to and ignored by her man-infatuated mother, she struggles to make sense of her isolated setting. Her new ‘brother’ Chance and his threatening behaviour makes things worse. In her search to find her place, Jade realizes she will never belong. She and Chance vent their collective anger and frustration with their parents and Jade sets out on her own.
