Whistle She Rolls
A lyrical and musical tale of love at the crossroads.
With no dialogue, this impressionistic film follows a jazz-loving woman at a Czech railway station. She’s pursued by a young man and winds up dancing and kissing as records spin on the turntable. She meets his parents and is invited to a ball, forcing her to choose which way she’s going to roll.
Director Armagan Ballantyne went on to direct the 2009 feature, The Strength of Water.
