Pelorus, Marlborough, New Zealand, 1979, a young man called Chris Sigglekow stands on the edge of a bridge. In the midst of a split with the mother of his two kids, he has become obsessed with a strange and risky idea. Chris is equipped with some roughly remembered Newtonian physics, his mate Ug, and a long elastic cord. This is the birth of modern bungy jumping.
