When Dean and Jenny go drilling for water, they dig up more than they bargained for. The well is empty, but there is definitely something down there ...
Dean and Jenny arrive in the middle of nowhere and begin digging and drilling a large well. Whatever it is they expect to find is not there; the well is dry. Dean, an already angry man by nature, is far from happy. He is equally disgruntled when they hear noises (voices?) coming from inside the hole. Jenny thinks it might be hole people, dean disagrees furiously, thinking spies would be a plausible answer, but most likely Asians! However when they lower a torch down and a piece of gold is returned in its place, Dean has a change of heart. “We’re gonna be rich!” he cries and heads into town to buy every torch he can find.
Left behind, Jenny is more thoughtful about the contents of their hole. She lowers down some food, and is happy to find another piece of gold returns in its place. When Dean returns, however, his greed is not similarly rewarded. The chaep and nasty torches he sends down the hole are sent back in pieces.
Incensed, he decides to go down and pay these ‘hole dwellers’ a lesson. Jenny’s warnings go unheeded and he lowers himself into the blackness. When Jenny pulls the rope back up, she discovers her fears (hopes?) were founded and the delivery of Dean has been again rewarded with gold.
