A bungled burglary causes the lives of two families to spiral out of control.
Based on the novel Crime Story by Maurice Gee.
Fracture is director Larry Parr's second feature film, following A Soldier's Tale (1988).
Parr had long been interested in adapting Maurice Gee's novel Crime Story for film. After purchasing the rights to the novel, he worked on the script for four years before production began.
Says Parr of the film, "Crime against family comes in many forms, both from within and without the family. I'm attracted to the notion that every family has its own crime story."
