George the dog and his human August are the only two souls aboard a gigantic, dilapidated space station. They’re charged with keeping it running, but are overwhelmed by the scope of the task. They spend their days cleaning vents and throwing a well-worn tennis ball down dimly lit-corridors in games of fetch. When August’s depression overwhelms him, he stops taking care of the ship… causing it to malfunction catastrophically!
They race to the station's only escape pod, but the way is blocked by flames and debris! August sees a way through, but it's only big enough for George... August desperately throws the tennis ball, and George follows, chasing it into the pod. August launches the escape pod, saving George but getting left behind in the process.
...But George’s devotion to August is too much, so he overcomes his crippling fear of space, gets in a space suit, jumps out of the escape pod, and doggy paddles back through space to August’s side!
With George in his arms again, August is pulled out of his depression, and they work together to stabilize the station. Disaster averted, they don space suits and play a game of fetch outside in the warmth of the sun.
