Hine, an elderly Māori woman who pines for the company of her husband, enlists the services of male escort Michael, in the hopes of reliving the companionship of her 50 year marriage. Hine unknowingly triggers Michael’s memories of his grandmother who he abandoned when she needed him most - and Hine has a secret of her own: loneliness is the most painful thing, especially if the person that you pine for, is still there.
