Congratulations to filmmaking team Traces of Nut, whose short film The Sleeping Plot has been named the 2013 48HOURS Grand National Champion.

The film, which also took out the prize for Best Cinematography, Best Director and the Wellington regional prize, was directed by Dean Hewison, written by Sam Dickson and Richard Falkner and stars Hewison's daughter, Nova Waretini-Hewison.  Nova was awarded Best Actress for her role as a 10-year-old girl who will do anything to find her missing best friend.

Traces of Nut, who have entered the competition every year bar one, is the team behind last year's stalker-rom-com hit How To Meet Girls From a Distance, made through the Make My Movie initiative.  The team beat out 756 other entrants to win the $100,000 prize.

The 2013 Rialto Channel 48HOURS grand final ceremony took place at the Civic Theatre in Auckland on Tuesday 16 July.

For a full list of winners, check out the 48HOURS website.
