The New Zealand Screen Production Grant (NZSPG) introduced in April 2014 has had a successful first year, attracting increased productions and lifting business confidence, Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce said today.

The first year’s operation of the NZSPG was jointly reviewed by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, in consultation with the industry.

Following on from the review, Ministers Steven Joyce and Maggie Barry have announced some changes to the NZSPG criteria will come into effect from 1 August 2015 including a reduction in the qualifying expenditure threshold for the Post, Digital and Visual Effects Grant from $1 million to $500,000.
