Feature Film Production Investment provides grants or equity financing to support the production of high-quality feature films with significant New Zealand content and strong market appeal.

The 2026 deadlines and Board meeting dates are:
- Deadline 1pm Monday 9th February – Board meeting 21st & 22nd April 2026
- Deadline 1pm Tuesday 7th April – Board meeting 16th & 17th June 2026
- Deadline 1pm Monday 13th July – Board meeting 22nd and 23rd September 2026
- Deadline 1pm Monday 14th September – Board meeting 24th & 25th November 2026

We invest in feature films that are ready to go into production and demonstrate creative, cultural, and commercial strength.
Equity investment of up to $2.5 million
Grants of up to $500,000
Available for projects with significant New Zealand content
Supports key production costs including cast, crew, locations, and technical services
Aims to enhance the visibility of New Zealand stories, talent, and screen industry
This funding is available to experienced producers who meet the following criteria:
The film must have significant New Zealand content
The applicant must be an experienced New Zealand producer
The lead producer must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
The project must be production-ready, with a confirmed schedule and viable finance plan
