Feature Film Production Investment provides grants or equity financing to support the production of high-quality feature films with significant New Zealand content and strong market appeal.
Application Process

- Book a pre-application hui with the NZFC funding team to confirm eligibility and discuss your submission: production@nzfilm.co.nz

When
Please submit your application at least 10 weeks before an NZFC Board meeting. We recommend applying early to allow ample time for review. The next Board meeting for investment consideration will be in April 2026.

Equity investment of up to $2.5 million
Grants of up to $500,000
Available for projects with significant New Zealand content
Supports key production costs including cast, crew, locations, and technical services
Aims to enhance the visibility of New Zealand stories, talent, and screen industry
This funding is available to experienced producers who meet the following criteria:
The film must have significant New Zealand content
The applicant must be an experienced New Zealand producer
The lead producer must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
The project must be production-ready, with a confirmed schedule and viable finance plan
