Feature Film Production Investment provides grants or equity financing to support the production of high-quality feature films with significant New Zealand content and strong market appeal.

- Book a pre-application hui with the NZFC funding team to confirm eligibility and discuss your submission: production@nzfilm.co.nz

The 2026 deadlines and Board meeting dates are:
- Deadline 1pm Monday 14th September – Board meeting 24th & 25th November 2026
- Deadline 1pm Monday 9th November - Board meeting 16th & 17th February 2027
The 2027 deadlines and Board meeting dates are:
- Deadline 1pm Tuesday 9th February 2027 - Board meeting 22nd April 2027
- Deadline 1pm Monday 12th April 2027 - Board meeting 22nd & 23rd June 2027
- Deadline 1pm Monday 26th July 2027 - Board meeting 5th & 6th October 2027
- Deadline 1pm Monday 20th September 2027 - Board meeting 30th Nov & 1st December 2027

We invest in feature films that are ready to go into production and demonstrate creative, cultural, and commercial strength.
Equity investment of up to $2.5 million
Grants of up to $500,000
Available for projects with significant New Zealand content
Supports key production costs including cast, crew, locations, and technical services
Aims to enhance the visibility of New Zealand stories, talent, and screen industry
This funding is available to experienced producers who meet the following criteria:
The film must have significant New Zealand content
The applicant must be an experienced New Zealand producer
The lead producer must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
The project must be production-ready, with a confirmed schedule and viable finance plan
