Feature Film Post Production Investment helps exciting projects get over the finish line by providing equity investment to support the completion of films for the big screen.
Application Process
One
Pre-application
Before applying, you should:
- Read the Feature Film Post Production Financing Guidelines (PDF) and Terms of Trade (PDF)
- Book a 15-minute pre-application hui with the NZFC production team to confirm eligibility: production@nzfilm.co.nz

Apply
When to apply:
Applications must be submitted at least 10 weeks before a scheduled NZFC Board meeting. We encourage early applications to ensure enough time for review.

Assessment & Decision
Once your hui is complete:
- Submit your application via the NZFC application portal
- Assessment and Decision: All applications are assessed by the NZFC team and then reviewed by the Board

This investment helps filmmakers bring their projects to a high-quality final release for cinemas.
Equity investment of up to NZ$500,000
Supports key post-production activities such as editing, sound design, colour grading and finishing
Available to projects with significant New Zealand content
This fund is for experienced New Zealand producers working on feature films with significant New Zealand content.
To be eligible:
The film must have significant New Zealand content
The applicant must be an experienced New Zealand producer
The lead producer must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
