Hot Docs is North America's largest documentary film festival and conference. What does Hot Docs screen? The Toronto-based festival screens more than 170 films from around the world, many of them world and North American premieres. The International sections, for which New Zealand films are eligible, are: Spectrum (Competitive), World Showcase, Next (arts, creativity and pop culture). What else is on? Toronto Documentary Forum (TDF), runs at the same time. It is focused around a slate of pre-selected project-presentations aimed at both buyers and sellers working in the social, cultural, and political documentary genres. More than 190 broadcasters and distributors from Europe, Australia, the USA, Canada, and elsewhere regularly participate.
