The Cannes Film Festival is the world's most famous film festival. What are the different sections? International Competition (feature and short films) Out of Competition; Un Certain Regard and Cinefondation (medium-length and short films). The event also features Quinzaine des Realisateurs (The Directors Fortnight) and Semaine Internationale de la Critique (Critics Week). What else is going on? Running concurrently with Cannes is Le Marche du Film (Cannes Market) which also has screenings and is the largest of its kind in the world. The Cannes Cinéfondation also runs the Résidence du Festival, a residence for young filmmakers working on their first or second films.
