Rights, Licensing and Royalties Executive

Location: Grey Lynn, Auckland

The New Zealand Film Commission is looking for a talented Rights, Licensing and Royalties Executive to join its Auckland based team.

This role will be responsible for setting up and managing the systems which will track the licensing of rights to distribute and exhibit NZ films worldwide, including on-demand and back catalogue titles. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that income generated by the exploitation of those rights is collected and distributed in accordance with the relevant agreements.

Data managed by the Rights, Licensing and Royalties Executive will be used to report to the Commission’s Executive and Board, generate insights about the financial performance of films that the Commission has invested in, and contribute to the Commission’s decision-making about future investments.

We are looking for a highly organised, resilient and determined professional with great problem-solving, literacy and numeracy skills. 

You will need to be able to understand complex legal arrangements and contracts and ensure they are complied with. 

Experience working with intellectual property rights and licensing arrangements in the film or television industries is essential, as is the analytical capability to organise and extract meaning from data.
