Following Minister Goldsmith’s announcement on 2 July 2024, a minor change has been made to the New Zealand Screen Production Rebate Criteria for New Zealand Productions.
- Effective from 1 July 2024, scripted series with minimum Qualifying New Zealand Production Expenditure (QNZPE) of NZ$10 million per season will not be subject to the $500,000 per hour requirement.
- The existing requirement for scripted series to have a minimum QNZPE of $1 million total and $500,000 per hour will remain in place for those with QNZPE under $10 million per season.
