Auckland | Full-time

Love film. Love detail.
You might be exactly who we’re looking for.

At Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga | New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC), we support the creation, protection and celebration of great New Zealand films. Behind every successful film is a wealth of carefully managed materials - and that’s where you come in.

About the role

As our Materials and Deliveries Executive, you’ll be the guardian of NZFC’s film materials - making sure everything arrives on time, meets technical and contractual requirements, and is stored, tracked and shared correctly.

You’ll work across short films and feature films, partnering with filmmakers, post houses, festivals, archives and internal teams to keep film materials moving smoothly through their lifecycle - from delivery, to archiving, to festivals and platforms around Aotearoa and the world.

No two days are the same, but if you like problem-solving, clear systems, and supporting creativity behind the scenes, this role has your name on it.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end receipt and management of film materials, including:

  • Receiving, tracking and securely storing all contracted film materials (features and shorts)
  • Quality-checking materials against funding agreement deliverables and technical standards
  • Following up (politely but persistently!) on missing, overdue or non-compliant materials
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases of all NZFC-held materials
  • Managing archiving workflows and supporting NAS storage systems
  • Coordinating deposits with third-party archives
  • Supplying materials for festivals, events, sales agents and distribution partners
  • Supporting platform delivery (including VOD and online channels)
  • Administering NZFC’s materials library system (Klvr Grants)
  • Responding to enquiries about current and historic film materials
  • Helping us plan for future capacity and demand for materials management

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring a mix of technical expertise, organisation skills and great relationship management. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in the film industry, particularly in a post-production environment
  • Some technical knowledge of film materials for feature films and short films
  • Some practical experience creating, assessing or delivering film assets
  • Confidence working with databases, digital file systems and storage workflows
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • An interest in records management, archiving, and long-term access to screen heritage

Why join us?

Because you’ll be supporting stories that reflect who we are - helping New Zealand films reach audiences now and for generations to come. Plus, you’ll work with a passionate, supportive team that genuinely cares about creativity, people and purpose.

To apply please send your CV and a cover letter telling us why you would be perfect for this role to recruitment@nzfilm.co.nz

Applications close on Friday 22 May.
