Head of Funding - Auckland

Having recently completed a review of our strategy and structures, this is an exciting time of change for the New Zealand Film Commission.

The Head of Funding is a newly created senior leadership position, based in our Auckland office, which has responsibility for shaping and leading the team that will manage all of our funding programmes. This includes funding screen productions, funding screen projects through the development phase, and funding industry groups and providers to support the development of the screen industry workforce.

We are looking to do things differently in the future – this position will, therefore, suit someone who is innovative and strategic in their outlook and can work with stakeholders to understand their needs.

The focus of this position is identifying the right projects to fund, contracting the delivery of the funded projects, managing risk, and ensuring outcomes are delivered. This means making sure our investment decisions are sound and measuring what we achieve through our investments.

The Head of Funding leads a team of seven and has responsibility for:

Industry Support
Film Investment and Development
Film Production

If you have senior leadership experience, a track record of driving change, exceptional relationship management skills, and a good grounding in the screen industry and knowledge of its workforce development needs, this could be the job for you.

Cultural capability is a must for this position. As the Head of Funding you will have a key role to play in delivering our Rautaki strategy. Te reo Māori capability would be an advantage, but this is not essential.

More information on this position and our expectations is set out in the position description.

Applications should be directed to karen.anslow@nzfilm.co.nz and must be received by Wednesday 17 June.
