Industry Development Funding
The Industry Development Fund supports the delivery of programmes that help develop filmmakers’ craft and practice to help our filmmakers make the strongest films possible, strengthening New Zealand’s screen industry. If you’re a screen sector organisation, company, or collective is registered in New Zealand, you are eligible to apply.
There are two budget strands for this fund –
- Strand 1 - Budget requests up to $350,000
- Strand 2 - Budget requests under $30,000

Before
- Read the Industry Development Guidelines
- Strand 1 – (budgets up to $350,000) You must book a pre-application hui to confirm eligibility: industrysupport@nzfilm.co.nz
- Strand 2 – (budgets up to $30,000) No pre-application hui is needed. Note: this fund is no longer open for applications at any time. The Strand 2 application dates are run in conjunction with Strand 1.

- Submit your application via the NZFC application portal
- Select Strand 1 or Strand 2

- Strand 1 and Strand 2 – Applications open Monday 20 July 2026.
Deadline: Monday 24 August 2026 at 1PM.
