The story follows the intertwined destinies of the Trask and Hamilton families, viewed through the lens of Cathy Ames — a complex, magnetic anti‑hero brought to life by Florence Pugh.

Written and executive produced by Zoe Kazan, and starring an ensemble cast including Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton and Ciarán Hinds, the series was filmed extensively across New Zealand.
