An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Affairs junior at the New Zealand Film Commission.  This is a permanent full-time junior legal and support role based in Wellington and reporting to the Head of Business Affairs.  The role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your legal skills and knowledge within an exciting and dynamic work environment.

To be successful in this role you will require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and initiative.  You will provide basic legal support within the team, working on financing, sales, and distribution contracts for films and other screen initiatives, carrying out legal research, assisting with drafting and negotiating contracts and providing general in-house legal support. You will also provide administrative support to the Head of Business Affairs and the wider Business Affairs Team, including liaising with both internal staff and external stakeholders. 

The ideal applicant will also have:

  • An LLB and ideally have also completed Professional Legal Studies (Profs)
  • A positive, friendly, flexible and team player attitude
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Initiative and the ability to cope effectively with a multi task work load
  • Integrity and the ability to manage confidential information
  • A passion for working in NZ’s dynamic and vibrant film industry
