The New Zealand Film Commission wishes to congratulate Catherine Fitzgerald and Frank Stark on thier recognition in today's Queen's Honours.

Producer Catherine Fitzgerald has a long list of filmmaking credits including The Orator, Turangawaewae/A Place to Stand and Two Cars, One Night.  She has been made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Film. Catherine has been a passionate member of the New Zealand film community for several decades. In particular she has worked with emerging writer/directors to help them bring their distinctive voice to the big screen through numerous short films as either producer, executive producer or mentor.

Frank Stark, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Film Archive, has been made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Film.  During Frank’s long tenure in the role, he has successfully built up the entity to its current position as New Zealand’s pre-eminent audio-visual archive, encompassing film, television and radio.
