Fiona Copland is known for innovative, original work and for identifying and developing talent. Alongside her five successful feature films she has also produced documentaries, factual series and animated shorts. She has created over a hundred hours of film and television.

Field Theory

Field Theory is a new company that brings together leading New Zealand film and television producers Philippa Campbell, Fiona Copland and Tim Sanders, along with distribution and finance executives. The company’s production focus is high-end film and television for the international market, including drama and factual. It has a particular focus on rich character-driven stories, including elevated genre, and is looking to develop strong international co-production relationships. Independently, the team has produced some of New Zealand’s most successful feature films and television series including Top of the Lake, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Whale Rider, Rain, Black Sheep, The Strength of Water, No.2, Perfect Creature and Topless Women Talk About Their Lives.
