How to qualify as an NZ film
We are committed to supporting and encouraging the diverse voices and stories that reflect our world.
We strongly believe the films we invest in must represent all the people of New Zealand. This means encouraging and seeking out voices, stories and experiences that are not seen everyday on screen.
Communicating the opportunities we offer is key to our commitment to increase diversity in the film industry. New programmes and initiatives are being developed to support filmmakers from all backgrounds and encourage them to express their unique voices through original storytelling.
He Ara is a development fund committed to presenting Maori and Pasifika stories on screen.
The voices and perspectives of women are also under-represented and we have introduced a number of initiatives to assist women in building sustainable careers in the screen industry.
