About
Kiwi Flyer is inspired by the Nelson Trolley Derby which takes place annually in February/March. The derby is an institution in the Nelson community and attracts a crowd of thousands every year. Eclectically designed trolleys of all shapes and sizes, made from a range of materials, race down Collingwood Street – the aim, to be crowned ‘Monarch of the Hill’.
The film was shot entirely in and around Nelson at the top of New Zealand’s South Island in August/ September 2011.
