As their marital situation, unfolds we realise that Bill and Jane are headed for a tragic reconciliation.
Actor Michael Hurst's first film as director takes its title from a song by country music icon, Hank Williams. The film takes staples of country music Americana and transports them into New Zealand of the 1950s. After their marriage ends, a salesman and his wife go their separate ways with the film following each of their paths as they meet up with mysterious travelling companions, a railway inspector and Hank Williams.
The film screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 1994.
