Screen Production Incentive Fund



The SPIF criteria, FAQs, the guidance notes and points framework around Significant New Zealand Content, and the
applications for provisional and final certification are all available for downloading below.  All applicants are encouraged to apply for provisional certification before commencing pre-production of their project. 
 
From time to time, updates may be made to the application forms and FAQs.  Please download the latest copy of these documents from this website before using them.

AUDITORS
 
As stated in paragraph 102 of the SPIF criteria, all applications for final certification must include an audited expenditure statement of all costs claimed as QNZPE prepared by an independent auditor.  The following Auditors have been pre-approved by the NZFC:
  • Ernst & Young
  • PriceWaterhouseCoopers
  • Grant Thornton
  • Staples Rodway
  • KPMG 
If you wish to use a different auditor then please provide details of that auditor to the NZFC for approval. 

SPIF COMMITTEE
 
A sub-committee of the NZFC, with the assistance of external consultants, will consider all provisional and final applications.  This committee comprises:
  • NZFC Board Members: William Somerville and Andrew Cornwell 
  • NZFC Staff: Naomi Wallwork, Graeme Mason and Mladen Ivancic
  • Independent Screen Production Industry Professionals: Trishia Downie, Dave Gibson and Matthew Metcalfe

SPIF SEMINAR PAPERS

On the 1st & 2nd of October 2008 the NZFC hosted seminars and general discussions in Wellington and Auckland covering:

1. SPIF criteria, process and significant NZ content
2. NZFC co-investment with SPIF, including recoupment
3. NZFC investment in non-SPIF films
